The Folk Arts Center of New England presents the 31st annual Balkan Music Night, a vibrant celebration of the rich musical traditions of the Balkans, and an immersive experience in music, dance, culture, and community.
You can dance all night in the spacious dance hall, or settle into the concert seating of the intimate upstairs kefana and listen to acoustic performances – or you can switch between dance hall and kefana as the spirit, and each 40-minute set, move you! For the full list of 14 performing groups, see http://
Previous dance experience is not necessary. Basic dances are taught during the first half hour, and many of the other dances done throughout the evening can be followed by watching the leaders.
Complimentary refreshments are provided. CDs from the Folk Arts Center’s music shop and from Balkan Music Night performers are sold at FAC’s Little Shop of Horas table in the lobby.
